1) Why use scissorman.co.uk?


We are experts in precision sharpening. We understand the needs of hairdressers and cutting techniques. We also understand the complex mechanics of hairdressing scissors. See our About page for more information.


2) How much will sharpening cost?


We charge £15 for a pair of scissors or thinners.


3) How often do scissors need sharpened?


Depending on how much they are used, it is normally every 4 to 6 months. This will be sooner if the blades have been damaged or dropped.


4) How long will I be without my scissors?


This depends on the condition of the scissors. If they are damaged or the set is wrong, sharpening will take longer. We can lend you a set of quality shears while yours are being sharpened.


5) Is the system suitable for all scissors?


The system is designed to sharpen only good quality hair scissors. Poor quality or cheap scissors are not suitable for this system.


6) How to post scissors to us


Print and complete our Job Request Form (pdf document).


Post your scissors and the completed form to us in a padded envelope, making sure the tips are protected by taping them together and wrapping the tips so that they can’t be damaged in transit. Post to Scissorman, PO Box 1155, Belfast, BT5 9BN.


7) How long will it take if I post my scissors to you?


We will endeavor to prepare, sharpen and return your scissors by registered post within one working week of receipt.
